Debe tenerse mucho cuidado aplicar ciegamente indicadores estadísticos predeterminados a períodos de tiempo extensos, sobre todo si tienen quiebres estructurales muy significativos, pues puede distorsionar sus resultados, máxime si en muchos casos no fueron elaborados para estos fines.
